Prior to the signing, a member of Salone Adventures, Murtala Mohamed Kamara said Salone Adventures is an outdoor group that seeks to promote local tourism through fitness training, hiking, travels and networking.

He said the aim of the partnership is to get AYV to promote the event with its wide and most credible platform, adding that the event will also create lots of contents for AYV.

“We showcase Sierra Leone and West Africa’s rich untapped tourism sites, among the successful events, Salone Adventures has held are ‘Experience Bo’ getaways, Leicester to Kissy hiking and Baracuda Island getaways”.

He said they will be organising a road trip from Freetown to Accra which will begin in Freetown and travels via Monrovia and Abidjan to Accra, adding that people who registered for this road trip will explore these countries’ sites and sounds.

Explaining further how does the package work, Murtala said a Freetown to Accra package will include transportation to and from Accra, sightseeing in Monrovia, Abidjan, Accra, accommodation, professional photos and video coverage, networking, and food.

He said it is estimated that the entire trip will take between 10 and 14 days, including travel time, adding that since 2019, the bus travels between Freetown and Accra.

Murtala went on that it has a clean safety record and that driver is very experienced and knows the route well. The trip’s cost he said will be announced soon, informing that the planning committee is made up of members from Freetown, Monrovia and Accra working tirelessly to prepare the trip.

Murtala further explained how to register for the trip. He said mobile money transfers, bank transfers and cash are accepted and that people will receive payment information once they register.

Murtala said: “The safety and well-being of our participants are our top priorities. We will have a dedicated team of experienced guides and security personnel accompanying the group throughout the trip. We will also provide safety briefings and guidelines to ensure a smooth and secure journey.

“We recommend packing comfortable clothing for warm climates, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat and sturdy walking shoes. It is also advisable to bring any necessary medications, personal hygiene items and a valid passport.

“It is possible for participants to join the road trip from other cities along the route. However, additional arrangements may need to be made and additional costs may apply. Please contact us for further details. We will strive to accommodate dietary restrictions to the best of our abilities. Please let us know about any specific dietary requirements or restrictions when you register, and we will do our best to make the necessary arrangements”.
