In continuation of the Free Sanitary Pads distribution nationwide, Her Excellency the First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio has distributed 3,000 packets of free sanitary pads to girls in 21 schools in Moyamba district.

The presentation was done at the Moyamba Mini Stadium witnessed by thousands of stakeholders from across the district.

Her Excellency the First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio expressed her thanks and appreciation to the stakeholders of Moyamba district for mobilising pupils from far and wide of the district to the mini stadium.

She encouraged the girls not to sell or share the pads with friends or relatives as they are meant purely for them and must last for one year.

She appealed to the girls of Moyamba to value their education and prioritise their studies.

She revealed that education is the key to unlocking future potentials, so the pupils must value and embrace education.

First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, expressed her frustration on parents who send their daughters into early marriages, while cautioning them to desist from such practices.

“The opportunities you are enjoying today is as a result of the level of education Dr. Fatima Bio attained when growing up, and I hope when you grow up you will emulate the footsteps of our First Lady Dr. Fatima Bio by giving back to your communities” Dr. Sylvia Olayinka Blyden admonished the pupils.

More statements were made by eminent stakeholders in the district. The program was climaxed with musical performances and the distribution of the sanitary pads to the pupils.
