In a swift operation, the Family Support Unit of Newton (4 Mile) Police Post, Waterloo Division, has apprehended 21-year-old Zainab Marian Koroma for the abduction of 3-year-old Abu Bakarr Koroma and 6-year-old Musu Mansaray from 10 J Blackhall Road, Coconut Farm, East-end of Freetown.

Musu Mansaray and Abu Bakarr Koroma were declared missing after Zainab visited their Coconut Farm residence, purportedly searching for her aunt within the community.

Tears of relief flowed as Abdul Koroma, the distressed father, expressed gratitude to the Waterloo Police for reuniting him with his child.

“I was overwhelmed with joy when I received a phone call from the police that suspect Zainab had been arrested at Four Mile, and my children were safe,” Koroma commented.

He had earlier reported the alarming case at the Ross Road Police Station in Freetown.

The accused, Zainab Marian Koroma, confessed to the crime of Child Stealing, citing pressure from her boyfriend and the community to prove her “womanhood” as the motive behind the desperate act.

The suspect is currently held in police custody as the investigation unfolds.
