The Management of Wusum Hotel in Makeni has provided food and drinks for fast-breaking (Iftar) to Imams and other Muslims at the Hotel’s premises in Makeni city.
Many people described the event as “truly special and sweet moment for Muslims in that part of the country”, with an atmosphere filled with the spirit of unity and togetherness.
The Muslims were welcomed by the management of the Hotel, provided with brief background about the event and its significance as they were treated to sumptuous and delicious meal and vegetables.
General Manager of Wusum Hotel, Mr. Cyril Roy-Macaulay, delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing gratitude to the Muslim community for always honoring his invitation.
He highlighted the unique aspect of religious tolerance in Sierra Leone, emphasising that despite his Christian faith, he always has other religions at heart. Mr. Macaulay acknowledged the original visionary behind the celebration of Ramadan Iftar, praying for the bond and revolution to continue in their absence.
Part of the beneficiaries, Councilor Ibrahim Fofanah, praised the management and entire membership of the Hotel for their dedication and commitment toward providing services to the country.
Dr. Mohamed M.B Sesay, Chairman for Bombali District Council, concluded the event with a summary, expressing gratitude to the General Manager of the hotel and his team for their hardwork and dedication.
He prayed for Allah to bless, protect, elevate and improve the Wusum Hotel. Many people say the Ramadan Iftar at the Wusum Hotel was not just a meal, but a celebration of diversity, tolerance and community spirit that will be remembered for years to come.
Wusum Hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, a garden and shared lounge in Makeni. Featuring a terrace, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom.
There is a restaurant serving African cuisine, and free private parking is available. At the hotel, the rooms include a desk and a flat-screen TV. All rooms have a safety deposit box, while some rooms also feature a balcony and others also feature pool views. At Wusum Hotel the rooms are equipped with bed linen and towels.
Recently, members of their team completed six months of external training Leadership with SLADEA. This was a TVET, dual on-the-job training facilitated by GIZ, the EU and the German government. Members of their Junior Leadership Team and staff who took part in the training. They were happy to be awarded their certificates of completion.
